"Rethinking Circle Time"

Teacher initiated large group experiences need to capture children’s interest, engage their active participation and support their holistic development. Participants will identify benefits and challenges of their current circle time experiences. A variety of hands-on activities and exercises will provide them opportunities to discover and practice new tools and techniques to become more confident and effective group time leaders.

Who we are

Jackie Wildau

  Jackie Wildau’s 25 years as a performer, director and producer of original theater is the capital she draws upon to create educational enrichment programs for young people and to develop professional development training for teachers. She has shared her work with educators at institutions including NYU, Steinhardt School of Education (Brandeis), and New Teacher Academy at Columbia’s Teacher’s College. The All In Play™ Program was initially piloted through CUNY’s Early Childhood Professional Development Institute, and generously funded by the NY City Council. She is credentialed by New York State Works for Children as a professional development trainer.

  Wildau developed All In Play™ as a means of providing professional development, teacher inspiration and school change in early childhood centers. She honed her pedagogical approach to enlivening the social, cognitive and kinesthetic literacy of young children during a thirteen-year stint as a teacher of pre-k dramatic arts at Columbia Grammar School in New York City

Eileen Hall

  Eileen Hall has worked for over 40 years as a teacher and specialist in early childhood education. As an instructor of early childhood and elementary education at Dutchess Community College for the past 19 years, Eileen weaves child development theory and current research with practical strategies in her classes. She has taught children from infancy through middle school, directed early childhood and school-age child care centers, founded a child care resource and referral agency and presented professional development workshops for early childhood teachers on local, state and national levels. She is credentialed by New York State Works for Children as a professional development trainer.​
